The Historic District of Daufuskie is comprised of the west side of the island and is the home of individuals living in diverse communities - everything from quant cottages to waterfront mansions. The Historic District of Daufuskie includes about one half of the entire island on the Intracoastal Waterway and Mungen River. The Historic District is not yet developed in the same way as Haig Point, Melrose, Oakridge, or Bloody Point; and home sites are accessed by county maintained dirt roads.
